Pros: Has a lot of trees and some of munfordville (in terms of plant life) looks nice. Ark4Hart helps with getting the feline population under control so the feral cats can have a somewhat easier life. They could definitely do more but you have to work with what is available. And last but not least, it is completely possible to leave it behind and move somewhere that makes a bit more sense and has opportunities.
Cons: Everything. It has no good transportation, the police are ignorant and rude at best and do not like to do their jobs. There are junkies everywhere and the entire court system is useless here. Even violent offenders are often slapped on the with no meaningful punishment which is why so many people here are repeat offenders and yet are usually out and about doing no good for anyone. There are no good restaurants, only fast food and they are horrible especially the pizza hut and the subway, the rest are average including the Mexican restaurant in town. It is only technically a city. It has a small population around 1650 and it is mostly comprised of elderly or junkies taking advantage of them and welfare. Everyone here seems to desperately avoid doing their jobs and everything seems to get done half a**Ed or in a weird inconvenient round about way. The laundry mat is horrible and none of the washers work properly - and that's when they do work, half of them are permanently out of order. And the doctors here (at least at the munfordville medical center) are barely able to keep you alive and almost seem to work against you when you try to get a referral. I lost count how many times they've told me "our referral person is out" as though there is only one person there who can possibly work. Amish are everywhere and there is often horse droppings on the streets and parking lots. They shouldn't legally be tax exempt many of them have satellite dishes on their homes and they drive vehicles sometimes. Hope they prepare for a fiery afterlife (according to their own beliefs) I suppose. There are THREE dollar general stores here. Why? I don't know. God forbid they build a good store. The grocery store here (Save A Lot) would normally be okay price wise, however most of their frozen produce and bags are cut open by the staff who seem to believe you need to jam a box cutter in the plastic wrapping as far and deep as possible and slice it open like Ghostface at Sydney's house. No one uses turn signals if you're on a bike. Nope. They'll just run you over. They think that you don't need to know where they turn I guess. Even when they do use their signal many drivers pass several turn before turning so you never really know where anyone is going. Just gotta hope they don't try to rush and save .0002 seconds getting to the nearby red light and stop like everyone else. Gotta get that milk and bread because it's raining. And the weather. It's like a swamp almost. Constantly humid. Expect 60-80% humidity at any given time. If you're a junkie who wants to commit drug crimes, even violent crimes, munfordville might be a good fit, to anyone who cares about themselves - you will be in for a big disappointment. Please avoid for your own sake.
